SHADOWSEER: ATHENS (Book Five) continues the story of Kaia, 17, an orphan coming of age in the Victorian Europe of the 1850s. Kaia yearns to escape her horrific orphanage, to discover who her parents were, and to understand why she can sense shadows when others cannot. When the brilliant Detective Pinsley, 45, takes Kaia under his wing and enlists her help in solving the mysterious and bizarre murders sweeping over Europe, the two of them become unlikely partners.
Are they part of a greater war of light versus dark? And is Kaia the only one who can stop it?
Dark fantasy meets mystery in SHADOWSEER, a page-turning, atmospheric thriller packed with authentic period detail, with twists and cliffhangers that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Reviews for Shadowseer

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The series as a whole I give four stars. This book three stars. The ending is to blah and the book does not tie up all the other lose ends that each book opened up. Like the inspector saying he would do something about the orphanage she grew up in. And closing down the psyc center from book one as well. And I would have thought we would find out what happen to the last guy that fell into the city or the stinkin superintendent should have gotten what he deserves to. Just lots of little things that didn't come to a close. The book ends basically in mid conversation.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I’ve listened to all the prior books in this series, and all have played out nicely. I still love the story line, but the recording on this book is crazily out of order. Starts at Chapter 9, then towards the end the first Chapters come out. AFTER the story is completely finished. Someone needs to reorganize the recording.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great narration. Lots of adventure and twists. I liked the ending. Ties everything up . Sad I’m done with the series.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Some of the chapters are out of order, just FYI.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A good ending to the series, all in all an enjoyable read.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great characters and the storyline keep you wanting more #1
