"In the Chalisa, we bow to the great beauty, strength, and devotion that Hanuman embodies; we also begin to bow to that place in ourselves. The Chalisa inspires us to try to become like him, to make the mirror of our heart as clean as Hanuman's so that we can become aware of the great beauty and love that lives within us as our own true nature"

I discovered Krishna Das music then read of his story of meeting a group of fellow Americans (Krishna Das is American too) in India who followed a guru who has supernatural power (could appear different places etc) and who they felt was a manifestation of a god. This book tells of that story then goes on to describe a chant.
Krishna Das has a peaceful, easy, articulate voice to listen too. He has podcasts and YouTube videos in which he discusses spiritual matters.
I find him to be genuine. It’s another matter to switch one’s approach from western Christian to Hindu. I find that piece to be disconcerting.
