Welcome back to Fairplay, Colorado and the return of Astrid, little sister to Greta Nilsson from A Cowboy for Keeps. In the previous series we meet Greta as she has agreed to be a mail order bride in order to find a place of healing for her sister, Astrid.
In this story, Astrid has become a doctor and returns to Fairplay because of her health but also in hopes of a partnership with the town's doctor who turns out to be an old friend from her youth. A bargain is made with Astrid agreeing to be Logan Steele's girlfriend in order for her to partner with him and get his mother off his back about not being married yet. What ensues is a fun ride of misunderstandings and manipulations that cause Astrid and Logan to re-evaluate their arrangement. The story is full of humor, romance, historical information on what it was like for females in a male dominated role, and plenty of action and adventure. A great western! This is the first in the series of the Colorado Cowgirls.
