About this audiobook

A wealthy noblewoman. A desperate knight. A dangerous secret that threatens their love … and their lives. If you’re looking for a good, clean read that combines the setting and mood of a medieval fairytale with the heat of historical romance—you found it!

Lady Sabine is harboring a skin blemish that, if revealed, could cause her to be branded as a witch, put her life in danger, and damage her chances of making a good marriage. No nobleman would want to marry a woman so flawed … and a possible witch at that.

Sir Bennet is returning home to protect his family from an imminent attack by neighboring lords who seek repayment of debts. Without fortune or means to pay those debts, Sir Bennet realizes his only option is to make a marriage match with a wealthy noblewoman. As a man of honor, he loathes the idea of courting a woman for her money, but with time running out for his family’s safety, what other choice does he have?

As Lady Sabine and Sir Bennet are thrust together under dangerous circumstances, will they both be able to learn to trust each other enough to share their deepest secrets? Or will those secrets ultimately lead to their demise?

Easy, clean, short story read. This would be a great romance for a junior high or high school student. Well done.

I rounded up 3.5 stars, but really, this one started out SO strong, and then lost me when the siege began. I wanted to love it, but couldn’t really get invested after that happened. Loved the characters and the beginning though!

Finished and liked the story. I didn’t love the reader. I love Jody Hedlund’s books but this isn’t as good as the others or the other readers.

I'm not always a fan of YA fiction. There is just something that doesn't always captivate with them. However, that said, I was quite surprised at the captivating story Ms. Hedlund created with this novel. From start to finish, I was hooked and in awe of the wonderful story she created. Sabine and Bennet's characters were complex and perfect for their roles in the story. The secret being held, watching them interact, seeing the honor that is among the pages of this endearing read, made for a quick, fun read! I loved the way Lady Sabine and Sir Bennet interacted and watching their feelings for each other shine through. I give this book no less than 4 stars. It's a quick read, and those who enjoy happy ever afters, fairy tale style settings and characters that will make their home in your heart, then you must grab Ms. Hedlund's book. It's definitely a surprising read and I am looking forward to giving her other books a try! Great job, Ms. Hedlund! *I received a complimentary copy of this book from CelebrateLit and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative.*

My first book of the series. I have to read the rest. The story is very enjoyable and captivating - with lessons of unconditional love and acceptance of ones imperfections.

I didn't hate this. But I didn't love it either. I don't know why I read Christian books. I'm not religious. They're not bad books, just not really my thing. For me I felt the story was too bland. I did like the relationship between Sabine and her grandmother. And I loved the sarcasm throughout between Sabine and the grandmother, Sabine and Bennet, Bennet and the grandmother. The plot was a little odd - although I understand historically skin blemishes were thought to be a sign of a witch - my modern brain can't comprehend such stupidity. I just wanted to bash their skulls together. I did like when Sabine fought back when they were trying to burn her. Pointing out the flaws of the rest of them was a pretty good strategy. But overall the drama about it just irritated me. The romance wasn't horrible but it didn't really resonate with me either. 1.5 stars rounded up to 2.

Lady Sabine, while attractive, she certainly isn't a beauty. To make matters worse, she has a large purple birthmark on her arm that labels her as a witch. Lord Bennett's is a Knight and handsome, but he's also honorable, passionate, and loyal. When they're pushed together by circumstances beyond their control, they find themselves falling for each other.Luckily for me, this third book in the series can be read on it's own. I certainly enjoyed this quick read, perfect for anyone that enjoys fairy tale retellings and squeaky clean, sweet romance novels.I would certainly recommend it. Jack Murphy

I really enjoyed the characters if Lady Sabine and Sir Bennet. They learn to become friends through some trying times. I like how they are brought together through unusual circumstances. This is the third in the series but they don't have to be read in order to enjoy. It would be hard to be different when people were so superstitious. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

For Love and Honor is a great story that tells the tale of Lady Sabine and Sir Bennett. It is an enjoyable read of teens and adults alike and I really got into the story. I enjoyed seeing how they were able to get around some of the obstacles that they felt were holding them back to work together to trust each other. The each feel like they have something to hide, but learn to put their trust in more. I received a copy of the book from the author, but the review is my own.
