About this audiobook

Picking up where her successful autobiography Enter Talking left off, Joan Rivers delivers a searing and funny account—as only she can—of private tragedy, a public fall from grace, and triumph against all odds. In Still Talking, Joan opens up about her rise to the top, dishes on fellow celebrities, and recounts the end of her treasured friendship with mentor Johnny Carson. Still Talking details Joan's courageous battle with life's obstacles and how she overcame the terrible circumstances that plagued her, surviving it all through laughter.

Joan Rivers

Joan Rivers was an American comedian, actress, talk show host, businesswoman, and celebrity. She was known for her brash manner and loud, raspy voice with a heavy metropolitan New York accent. Rivers was the National Chairwoman of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is a board member of God's Love We Deliver. Like the ground-breaking Phyllis Diller, Rivers's act relied heavily on poking fun at herself. She died in 2014.

Joan Rivers, a famous comedian, writes about her life in the rise and fall of stardom including tragedies and sorrow. I assumed it would be funny but her public and private life was far from laughable. After reading the book, I have more respect for her honesty, strength, perseverance and love and commitment to her family. After her beloved husband, Edgar, committed suicide, she rose from those ashes to win the Emmey for best talk show. I really enjoyed her life story although someone should have told her, if she was going to narrate her own book, please please SLOW DOWN. She read it so fast, I could barely keep up. I would have enjoyed it more had she read more slowly to allow the listener to process the emotion of what she was going through. You barely heard that Edgar committed suicide and she was on to the next emotion and event. I liked it though.

The well-known comedienne and talk show host opens up about her career, her rise to the top, her marriage, the birth of her daughter, and the suicide of her husband, Edgar. I found this book to be extremely honest and well-written. I give it an A+!
