Conrad (Conrad & Hannah): box set 2. FREAKING CLIFFHANGER!!! TRIGGERS: BDSM, underage drinking, inappropriate professor-student relationship, alcohol abuse, dirty cops. Twin #1. Finally we get to the twins. Conrad is the more responsible twin. He's blackmailed by the chief of police to bring his daughter home. Hannah is a HOT MESS. She dropped out of college and drinks like a fish. What should've been a quick trip by plane, turns into a long drawn out road trip. Conrad is the ultimate alpha male when it comes to handling Hannah. Hannah was quite annoying for most of the book. I feel like maybe she's been molested at some point. She uses sex to get her way at every turn. She hates her dad and stays away from her whole family for that reason. Though her reason for hating him isn't really clear until the very end. Conrad and Hannah have a strong chemistry and their passion is hot. The story itself is good but I really couldn't stand Hannah until the end. But then… cliffhanger. Now we have to wait to see what'll happen with her dad.

Cannon (Cannon & Madison): TRIGGERS: assault, blackmail, attempted rape, election tampering, miscarriage. Cannon finally gets his day. He also manages to get blackmailed by the chief of police to get his competitor for the mayoral election to drop out of the race. The SKMCSC decides instead, they're going to back the competitor. Madison wants to be mayor and has big plans. I didn't like her in the beginning because she was extremely uppity. Not down to earth at all. Just by the way she judges Cannon upon appearance alone. Cannon is assigned to watch over her. The two try hard to keep things platonic and professional but eventually the dynamite explodes. The chief is up to his old tricks and now both of the twins are in trouble. Cannon and Madison were not my favorite characters but this storyline was really good.

Nolan (Nolan & Rita): TRIGGERS: rape, kidnapping. Nolan is one of the nomads that patched fully into the SKMCSC. We get a bit of a back story on how Nolan meets Rita. She's working at a strip club as a waitress and he hits on her. She's not feeling his attempts but eventually they end up getting involved. Rita has had a rough upbringing, she is now the sole guardian for her teenage brother. While she works two jobs to keep them in an apartment with food, he gets in with a bad crowd. Nolan ends up covering for them one day and goes to prison. Five years later some guy busts into the MC's clubhouse looking for Nolan and demanding a divorce from Rita. So at first I'm like "Huh? Did I miss something?" Of course the big macho guys figure it out and they are on the move. I love this series and these men. While big scary brutes, they are extremely protective over women, not just the ones they're related to or in love with but women in general. They risk everything in order to save a woman from a bad situation. Rita is not in danger of being claimed by the brute that faced off with Nolan and she's not about that life. She just wants to do her job. The brute wants more. Can Nolan save her? You'll have to wait and see. Really great series.
