About this audiobook

Coral branches rarely wear a wristwatch. That was Jesse McDermitt’s first thought when he found a partially denuded human arm, teeming with crab, lobster, and fish life, during his morning ocean swim.

The discovery of a drifting mega-yacht the following day while fishing the Gulf Stream, causes quite a stir among the many alphabet agencies of the federal government, not to mention one shaggy canine.

A severed leg and two whole bodies are discovered aboard. The find links the disappearance of the yacht’s owners to the arm Jesse found twenty miles to the north, near his home in the back country of the Florida Keys.

Black marketers from Eastern Europe have set up a base of operations too close to Jesse for comfort. The rescue of the yacht-owners takes on national security importance, but it’s even more important to one of Jesse’s closest friends.

High speed boats and planes race across the Gulf Stream, causing the Cuban Air Force to become nervous. Will Jesse and his crew reach the victims in time?

Having read all of Wayne Stinnett's books in the "Fallen" series, I was pleasantly surprised to see this edition advertised and quickly downloaded it to my Kindle. Fallen Tide read differently for me after almost a year-long absence from the series, this story seemed to lack much of the detail and side trips that Jesse and his group usually took during a story. In this edition, when Jesse and his group stumble upon the kidnappers, the story quickly wrapped up during the final 10% of the book. Perhaps, it is due to this book being the shortest of all others in the series.I still enjoyed the story, it was suspenseful and gave readers an up close look at many of the military weapons and secrets. When I finished, I discovered that I had also missed #7 as well - I quickly purchased it and plan to read it next. I'm hoping that it will be more engaging. On a final note, Wayne has eliminated Pescador, the wonder dog. I've enjoyed reading about this animal and have marveled over many of the things this pet did. His absence going forward will be missed! I'll be watching for #9 to come out and will certainly purchase the book when its available. Thanks Wayne for an enjoyable series so far!
