About this audiobook
There are plenty of books and tips on writing faster, learning more marketing tactics and strategies, trying to maximize your ranking, hitting the top of the charts, juicing the algorithms, and hacking different ad platforms. While these are all important things — which the authors themselves regularly write and talk about — it's also important to recognize that your author journey is a marathon, and not a sprint.
Joanna Penn and Mark Leslie Lefebvre have been in the business long enough to see authors burning out and leaving the writing life because they turned what they love into a hamster wheel of ever more production and marketing tasks they hate. It doesn't have to be this way.
This book is a collection of tips on how to be a more relaxed author — and return to the love that brought you to writing in the first place.
Includes: Relaxed Writing, Relaxed Publishing, Relaxed Marketing, and Relaxed Business.

Reviews for The Relaxed Author
9 ratings3 reviews
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another great book from Joanna Penn! It was great to have the advice and the point of view from both Joanna Penn and Mark Lefebvre, with their years of experience running a writer's business, a look at the traditional and independent publishing, how it all works together and how you can have a more relaxed life as an author today.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Chock full of great ideas and ways to look at your writing life. I enjoyed both Joanna's and Mark's perspectives and each one narrating how they relieve stress in their own work. They continuously stress we are all individuals and need to find ways to modify their advice to suit our own goals and lifestyles. A good book even for non-authors.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Waow, this book really opened me up with the exact questions I have been asking. I am not alone after all. But the answers to those sincere questions have made me more relaxed. I'm really grateful for the mental shift.
