About this audiobook

Family…country…or the woman he loves…

Navy Seal Ford Marshall isn’t the kind to stand by and let a woman get hurt—especially when it involves his twin sister, RJ. So, when she makes the news, accused of sparking an international incident, he doesn’t care what it takes—he’s going to find her and bring her home.

But he might need a little help, so he calls on the woman who has had his back during the last three years—Petty Officer Scarlett Hathaway, former communications expert-turned Rescue Swimmer candidate. She’ll help him get into the country, watch his back, and…well, they might be able to have one last mission together before she leaves for a new life, a life he very much wants to be a part of now that she is off his team. Maybe he can convince her to give them a chance to kindle the spark that’s simmered between them for years.

Scarlett Hathaway isn’t sure what future she wants—not when she suddenly has to care for her little brother. Maybe she should quit the Navy and start a life with the man she can’t seem to get out of her heart. So yes, she’ll help Ford find his sister. And maybe, along the way, figure out if they have a future.

But finding RJ somewhere in the vastness of Russia with the FSB chasing them will push Scarlett beyond even her courage and make her question everything she thought she wanted…including Ford. What will it cost her to love a man who saves the world?

And when Ford is asked to choose between saving his sister, saving the world from a war, and rescuing the woman he loves…can he live with his decision?

The third book in the Montana Marshalls series will leave you breathless!

The story, characters, and narration all 5 stars. However, recording plays one chapter twice and drops a chapter, which leaves a large gap at the crucial part of the story.

The book was awesome - the narrator is terrible. It’s so hard to listen to such a great story when the narrator is so grating. He does the female voices so choppy and staccato, and don’t get me started in the voice for Ham, sounds like the guy is talking thru gritted teeth or chewing on a cigar. The narrator doing the global search and rescue series (Cynthia Farrell) does voices MUCH better. I’ve listened to the first 2 books in the series and he just gets worse. I’ll finish the series as Susan May Warren is such an amazing writer and I need to find out how it all ends. But ... if this guy narrates another series of her books I won’t be listening.

Every book I have read in this series has a Biblical truth to teach the readers and the story of ford is no exception. Ford, like many of us believes he doesn't need anyone and that he can go it alone. Susan helps us to see that God did not create us to be loan woles, but that we all need to be a part of something, god's family. Ford also had to learn that when you depend on your own strengths and they fail, there are serious consequences that can and often do arise. It took failing on his own for Ford to realize that when ya accept the help of others and rely on God life and the situations it throws at you are much easier to handle. Thanks Susan for another amazing read. I love how you bring God to the forfront all your books and that you deal with real life situations. May God continue to bless in your writings.

I've read the previous two books in the series ("Knox" and "Tate") and enjoyed them. I would classify this as suspensful romance since, to me, the romance aspect is emphasized a bit more than the suspense/thriller part of the story.I feel the characters voices have deepened as Warren has progressed with this series. I feel like we got to know more about Ford's and Scarlett's inner struggles than we have the other main characters from the other two books. Both Ford and Scarlett have to learn to trust God and to trust others. Warren does a good job of setting up the characters for future installments. I have to admit that I don't really remember Coco much from the previous books--I'm not sure if her story was covered in a different series by the author or is just backstory. I'm sure we'll find out more about her in Wyatt's book which is next up for the series. We also get a taste of Ruby Jane (RJ) and York--which makes me wonder if RJ will get her own book in the series. There's also the Marshall mom who's got a new love interest so I guess the series could continue on past the brothers. (We've also seen the brothers mentioned in another of Warren's series.) I did find it a bit annoying that we don't know what happens to York and Coco by the end of this book. I would have liked a little bit more of a hint on what's to come for them.

Another addictive read in the Montana Marshalls series, Ford is exactly what I have come to expect from Susan May Warren—and that’s a great thing. It’s only natural that Navy SEAL Ford Marshall has the protective gene, plus a need to prove his worth. So, when his twin sister RJ becomes embroiled in scandal in Russia, he can’t help rushing to her aid—and brings Petty Officer Scarlett Hathaway along for the ride. Now, it is quite the high-stakes adventure that this pair has, and I am here for it. Action, danger, drama, superb chemistry… It’s fast-paced and fun and full of heart. I recommend it (but be sure to read Tate first, since that’s where the story begins between Ford and Scarlett—or better yet, just start at the beginning of the series; you won’t regret it).I received a complimentary copy of this book and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own.

"He used to say that he didn't show up where God hadn't gone first. That he didn't worry about fixing anything - that God already had it figured out. He was just following orders."Oh, my. How does Susan May Warren's books get better and better as the series unfolds? Wait... did I say this about Tate after reading it?!?!Well, somehow the series does keep getting better and this book 3 in The Montana Marshalls series will totally wrap itself around your heart and mind, even after having loved and cherished Knox and Tate. I was not expecting an adrenaline-filled, action-packed, complex international suspense thriller when I picked up Ford (though I knew it would take place mostly in Russia) and was absolutely delighted as the plot picked up pace and rolled at bullet-train speed. As always, the writing is clever and emotional with great dialogue and banter, the characters are beautifully flawed and intensely lovable, the romance is totally swoony (and we get quite a few couples in the book by this point in the series), and the faith element is spot-on.Ford, our Navy SEAL hero, traverses the world to find his twin sister who's been framed as an assassin in Russia. He's got a haunting demon from the past that drives his reckless and impulsive need to prove himself and he prefers to be the lone wolf, depending on his skills and strengths. Scarlett is his teammate whose terribly broken past prevents her from really loving and being loved....and tragedies of the present suffocate her even more. Despite their brokenness, Ford and Scarlett combine their bravery, strength, resourcefulness, and intelligence to find his sister RJ in the vast Russian underworld. Add to this great plot RJ's flight and romance through Russia with a mysterious protector named York and a little taste of Wyatt, and the book will have your heart pounding from the spectrum of emotions and head spinning from the intricate threads in the overarching plot coming together. And the plot twists! There are enough of those to cause a twister throughout the story. And through so many near-death incidents, Ford realizes God's power and gives Him the glory and control as Scarlett slowly de-ices her heart to hear God's calling. And now it's "hurry up and wait" time for Wyatt (book 4) and Ruby Jane (book 5) to release! Oh, the anticipation!!I received a copy of the book from the author/publisher via JustRead Publicity Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comment and opinions are solely my own.
