About this audiobook

Countless stories. One incredible ending.

A major league baseball player. a Tennessee pastor. A reality TV star. a single mom. A multi-platinum rocker. What do these people have in common? They’ve all hit bottom. And none of them stayed there.

Famous or unfamiliar, these are the stories of real people who reached the end of their strength, the end of their control, and found the most surprising truths. It taught them not to rely on self or substance but to lean on the only completely reliable source of love, hope, and freedom: the God who created them. Shocking in their honesty, inspiring in their courage, these testimonies are critical reminders that no one is too far from God to find him.

Join these and thousands more who have discovered the lifechanging power in putting God first and proclaiming, “I am Second.”

This book brings together 20 stories of radically transformed lives. Some stories are heartbreaking to read while others are less so but all of their stories must be told of God's grace in their lives. These stories are not easy to read but all of them are meant to encourage, inspire & uplift anyone who is in despair. All of them were at one point or another at the point of despair & all of them found God's grace...These are their stories, for real.

A great way to hear stories from real life people (some famous) and their experiences meeting Christ. I enjoyed this book a lot and I like how each story ends on an inspiring note.

I had never heard of the I Am Second Movement. Yes, I mean movement. This is so much more than just a book, but I didn’t know that until after I read it and browsed the webpage. But in a way, I am glad that it’s a movement. Sometimes you read an intensely good read about life and you wonder who’s really living like this? But I Am Second is the stories of people who have chosen to live a life where they are not in control. They have chosen to give up what wasn’t working in their lives, the secrets and addictions that they hid behind in exchange for extreme faith. I say extreme faith, because there are complacent Christians and there are Christians who do “just enough”. Those who follow in the path of being second are not complacent and they are not doing “just enough”. The collection of stories was powerful and filled with people who I knew or heard of and people that I had no clue about. On the website, when watching the videos, I found that there were even more people who had chosen the path of the second. They didn’t gloss over their “before” lives so it made a huge impact when they talked about their lives “after”. At the end of reading this book, a Bible verse came to mind, “His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” ( Matthew 25:21). I think these are the words that those who choose to be second will hear.Recommendation: If you are interested in learning about how the Christian faith can change your life, regardless of where you are, you will definitely enjoy this book. If you are interested in going deeper in your own Christian walk, you will definitely enjoy this book.A copy of this book was given to me, free, in exchange for my honest opinion.

Don't bother reading this unless you are a substance abuser or otherwise down-and-out. It seems only those who sell their bodies for cash, or who are near death, can find this God who asks them to surrender. This patriarchal God doesnt seem to have time for those on a spiritual quest to grow in God's Light. This book preaches sin and calls it salvation.Actually, what this book really seems to believe is that one cannot have a personal experience of God unless it is a sudden conversion experience.
