Carol Higgins Clark (1956–2023) was the bestselling author of the Regan Reilly mysteries. She was the daughter of suspense writer Mary Higgins Clark, with whom she coauthored a bestselling holiday suspense series. Also an actress, Carol Higgins Clark studied at the Beverly Hills Playhouse and recorded several novels. She received AudioFile’s Earphones Award of Excellence for her reading of Jinxed.

Private Investigator Regan Reilly joins her friend Kit in Hawaii when all flights to the East are cancelled due to a huge snowstorm. A hotel employee has been found dead along the beach. Although the police rule the death accidental, there have been enough strange things occurring at the hotel to make the manager suspicious. The manager has something to hide as do most of the others that Kit and Regan encounter. There are almost too many subplots going on in this novel. It was a quick read, probably most enjoyable as a "beach read."
