This book was great from the start! The characters were believable and my heart went out to Evie. There were enough details to convey the more gruesome parts, without overdoing it. There was enough left to the imagination and it flowed well, so it kept my interest from start to finish.

I really think this would be an awesome limited series on Netflix. I love the character Evie. She’s young and still has some innocence, even after everything she’s been through. And she’s very Sassy. I think she’s hilarious, but with a dry humor. I really love this series. One more to go!

3.5 stars, definitely an improvement from the first book in the series - much more grounded in reality. Well paced and engaging, with a lot more about evie’s background interspersed with the pedophile ring making an attempt to silence her in the presence.
Very good narration overall - though there’s the same issue as in the first novel where the narrator drops his voice making her read as a teen boy vs girl - very odd bc he’s excellent with other female characters.
Will continue the series.
