After barely escaping the Mission alive, Gene and Sissy face an impossible task: staying alive long enough to stop an entire world bent on their destruction. Bound on a train heading into the unknown with the surviving Mission girls, Gene, Sissy, David, and Epap must stick together and use everything they have to protect each other and their only hope: the cure that will turn the blood-thirsty creatures around them into humans again. Now that they know how to reverse the virus, Gene and Sissy have one final chance to save those they love and create a better life for themselves. Reviews for The Trap

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5teen fiction (vampire dystopia with love triangle, book 3 of trilogy)
All is explained here, and even though it all makes relative sense, it's somehow not as satisfying to learn the "truth." Still, if you've read the first 2 you'll want to read the last book. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The cliffhanger from The Prey led me to immediately move in to The Trap. After all, why shouldn't I just go ahead and finish the series up? This was the cruelest book in the series. The things that Gene and Sissy had to go do and the deaths! It was just heartbreaking. Also, I totally didn't expect that ending. I loved the unique spin that Fuduka put on his story. It really made me stop and think. This is a very interesting series that left me with things to think about. Wish I could go in to more details but I'm afraid of spoiling the ending.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A nice end to this trilogy. It does amaze me how they keep escaping all the duskers. Sometimes it makes me think the duskers are stupid and maybe they are, but this one has more twists and turns and scary moments. I would read the trilogy all at once as they flow like one big book. This could be an interesting movie. This is a different take on the world and is quite interesting. I recommend it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I did not expect that ending at all.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was an AMAZING series! My first reaction to the Hunt (first in the trilogy) was "hooray! The real vampires are back!" They don't gently suck blood from their victims or befriend humans...they rip them apart. The descriptions of characters who are in the sun too long are wonderful...I can almost see and smell them. But the plot twists! I really did not see most of them coming and they were so original. I could rave about this series for a long time but I hate spoilers.....This series needs to jump to the top of your vampire, horror list.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Gene and Sissy are doing everything they can to survive, including hoping that the blood-thirty creatures turn back into humans before it's too late.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I read this third and final book in the Hunt Trilogy in a little over two hours. It was that good. Book two leaves us wondering where Gene, Sissy and the others are headed. Are they headed to further danger or salvation? The final book doesn't disappoint. They find other hepers like themselves. But, they find that not everything or everyone is who they say they are. The adventure keeps you on the edge of your seat. One minute you think everyone will survive, then there is a major change. Gene and Sissy face one life threatening event after another. Each time the reader is carried to the top and made to wonder how they can survive. You see the answer then boom, you are right back wondering if they will get out of the next situation. The discovery that Gene and Sissy make at the end of the book and the way the author ends it was such a wonderful twist. The reasons for the situation they find themselves in show how society can change and throw life into cataclysmic change when science goes wrong. This is a definite must read. The best twist on vampires I have ever read. For those who love vampire stories, this will not disappoint. If I could give it more than five stars I most definitely would.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The finale to The Hunt trilogy by Andrew Fukuda, The Trap begins where The Prey left off with Gene, Sissy and the escapees from the Mission on the train to the Palace, dreading the possibilities that await them.Fast paced and action packed, Gene, Sissy and the remaining dome survivors, Epap and David, are immediately thrown into a whorl of life threatening chaos. Escaping the train is the first challenge, the next is to avoid being harvested by the Ruler, or the rebels, and the last is to confront Ashley June and survive. While the plot barely hangs together in places, marred by events that require the complete suspension of belief, the story is rescued by a few unexpected and clever twists. The truth about the Origin will stun followers of the series and I have to give Fukuda credit for blindsiding me with that. The Trap is a satisfying conclusion to The Hunt trilogy and despite the flaws with this series, I was glad to see it through to the end.
