DAVID LLOYD is the Distinguished Professor of English at the University of California, Riverside. Among his many publications are Arc & Sill: Poems 1979–2009; Beckett’s Thing: Painting and Theatre; Under Representation: The Racial Regime of Aesthetics; and Counterpoetics of Modernity: On Irish Poetry and Modernism. Lloyd is one of cricket's great characters. This book is not only a collection of his thoughts on the game - from his perspective as player, coach and TV commentator - but laso his thoughts on life. He regales a vast repertoire of humorous stories and observations with a typical northern wit. Recommended.
