About this audiobook

I am Emmalyn Mikaelson.

My husband, in a rage, hit me in front of the wrong person. Diego, or Kincaid to most, beat the hell out of him for it. I left with Diego anyway. Even though he could turn on me just like my husband did, I knew I had a better chance of survival with Diego. That was until I realized Kincaid could hurt me so much worse than my husband ever could. Physical pain pales in comparison to troubles of the heart.

I am Diego "Kincaid" Anderson.

She was a waitress at a bar in a bad situation. I brought her to my clubhouse because I knew her husband would kill her if I didn't. Now she has my protection and that of the Cerberus MC. I never expected her to become something more to me. I was in more trouble than I've ever been in before, and that's saying a lot considering I served eight years in the Marine Corp with Special Forces.

Contains mature themes.

I love reading erotica, especially ones with biological daddy-daughter incest themes. It's just so naughty! I've recently begun writing my own stories, many of which will contain watersports, but as consensual erotic play without humiliation. I've always been a daydreamer and now I'm putting the scenes that I make up in my head into stories and it's awesome to let those fantasies out and share them! If one of my characters makes you angry, sad, or happy - then I've done my job. I hope you can escape into my tales as much as I did when I wrote them. While I have more than 40 authors that I have marked as favorites, there are several who I follow religiously. These wonderful authors have been an inspiration to me in my own new endeavor to write and to whom I'd like to say thank you: Lisa Smiles (I've bought every single book of yours!), Lolly Pope, Lilly James, Robert "Bob" Lubrican, Tori Westwood, Amber FoxxFire, Timothy Spears, Zehn Harlock, Veronica Sloan, Victoria Blackstone, Aimee La Bouche, Sara Kitty, Izzy Slam, Lily Weidner, E. V. Nyx, Penelope Liksit, Nocturas Dreamwhisper, Piper Belle, Dee Dee Zee, and Sharon Dick, just to name a few.

    Sooooo....

Here's the thing. I try really hard to rate books based on what the AUTHOR intended them to be, and not on what MY personal preferences are. For instance, I'm not like people who downgrade a book just because *I* think it had too much (or too little) spicy content.

For example, in this book in specific, did I personally like the presence of all the club whores, and that whole related drama?! NO, I did not! Especially since this really wasn't a true "motorcycle club" story. But whatever. That's the kind of story the author was trying to tell, and I can respect that it's just not my personal thing.

But there are just some cornerstones of good story telling that I personally just can't look past.
For the purposes of this review, I'm just going to focus on characterization, and character development.

    There wasn't any. The end.

    Okay, okay, fine, I'll elaborate.

The FMC came directly out of a six year physically abusive relationship, literally rode off on the back of a violent stranger's motorcycle, and within days was irrationally attached to and possessive of him. She proceeded throughout the story to act and react in ways that no one who had been abused like she had would have been....

The MMC, meanwhile, was suffering from a huge case of White Knight Syndrome based on his own toxic and traumatic past.

Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE me some angst, and trauma-bonding.
But I need to see it GROW, not just happen automatically.

Even if you like insta-love/insta-lust, there was just too much about this story that was just TOO unrealistic. I tried to suspend disbelief, but given the factors the relationship was founded on , and the fact that we saw no other ways that they grew in their interactions together beyond the physical, it was impossible not to see this relationship as being doomed to eventual implosion.

Aaaaand, there were just a lot of other plot weaknesses, and dropped storylines.

Your mileage may vary. This series, and this book in particular, is highly recommended by others.
For me, the three stars was being generous.
