They meet in the middle of a bank robbery where Everly Danu is being held hostage by one of the robbers. Landry Cooper is trying to figure out how to save her without letting the world know that he is a werewolf. In fact, all of the members of the Dallas PD SWAT team are werewolves. Landry worked disarming explosives in the army until a bomb exploding too near to him caused him to be medically discharged. Now he's with SWAT. Everly is an artist who is self-employed. She is the youngest child of her family and she has four older and very over-protective brothers and a father who is still treating her like she's five. The two hit it off immediately. Landry is wondering if she is The One that all werewolves dream about - the one who is the other half of their soul. All Everly knows is that she has never met a man that she liked more and felt more connected to. The two are busy building their relationship all the while there are a series of bombs being set around Dallas - bombs made of missing military plastic explosives. And things don't go at all well when Everly introduces Landry to her family. They hate him and forbid her to have anything to do with him. In fact, her brothers attack him. This was an exciting romance with just enough spiciness. The mystery offers lots of chances for both Landry and Everyly to be heroes. I also liked catching up with favorite characters from earlier books in this series.

The most amusing part of this story is that it's Cooper, who's been giving sage advice to everyone else on the team stricken by meeting The One. And now he meets his...and it's not so simple. More worldbuilding - there are also werewolf hunters. And magic artifacts that can reveal the wolf. And buried memories (on both sides) - the shrink is very interesting, I wonder what she does know. Everly is an interesting person; it takes her a while (like every other One in the series) to acknowledge that Landry is important enough to push past the problems. The story is nicely intertwined with the romance, and Landry's past is an important point - not just memories, but more solid matters. I like the Danus - they have a strong viewpoint, but are (eventually) willing to expand their minds. It'll take more than one book, though. Good thing there's a lot more to the series.

Paige Tyler’s To Love a Wolf is a thrilling addition to the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team Series. SWAT officer Landry Cooper saves the life of Everly Danu. He is certain she is the one, but when her family discovers that he is a werewolf, they try to keep them apart. This PNR/Urban Fantasy novel takes place in Dallas, Texas. It is suitable for adults. To Love a Wolf has become my new favorite book in this series. I could not put it down. One exciting thing happened after the other. I was impressed with Paige Tyler’s EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) knowledge. I wasn’t surprised when I read in the acknowledgement that her husband and writing partner was a former Army EOD for twenty years. It was obvious in the writing. The novel was extremely credible. I like how the story started with how Landry was turned while her served in the army outside Samarra City, Iraq in 2009. I also, loved its relevance in the story. The characters are well-developed and likeable. It was great that Gage’s and Mac’s (from book one) wedding was in this story. I appreciate how close the SWAT team is. Landry is the wolf all the other guys always go to for advice. It was interesting to see that tables turned on him in this story. I like Everly. Her family’s background was an interesting twist to the story. They are understandable overprotective over her.SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team is an excellent series for anyone who enjoys PNR/Urban Fantasy with a law enforcement element. I am looking forward to Alex Trevino story.Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
