About this audiobook
Angie Turner is all prepped to face Boise's culinary best when she enters her restaurant, The County Seat, into a big State Fair challenge. Instead, she gets dunked into a new murder investigation after a killer starts scrapping her competition . . .
The Idaho State Fair is in full swing and chefs are lining up to enter Boise's Best Restaurant contest, including Angie and her County Seat crew. They might be the hometown favorite, but the competition is steeper than a funhouse floor. And when a top contender is felled following a heated confrontation over a corn dog recipe, winning suddenly becomes a matter of life or death. With a foul foodie on the prowl, it's up to Angie to dig into the case and put a murderer on ice.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Angie and her crew are working at a carnival for a week and competing in a cooking contest. It should be great fun, but one by one, the chefs in the contest are being targeted. Ransacked trailers, attacks on the chefs, and murder abound. Sometimes winning makes you the ultimate loser. Still, the crew soldiers on. Adding to the stress are the normal medical problems of heat-related maladies. But poisoning becomes the real threat. In addition, a runaway teen has captured Ian’s attention, and complicates things for his family and for Angie’s staff. It’s another exciting mystery, filled with favorite characters in impossibly dangerous situations that somehow, they manage to overcome. Great entertainment.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Angie Turner, owner/chef from the County Seat restaurant enters her restaurant into a cooking challenge competition. There are 4 stages in the cook-off but things don't turn out as expected as the stage winners are dropping like flies after their victories. Is winning that important that people are getting killed? The foods that are being offered by the chefs sound divine but will they survive to cook another day?The characters are developing nicely and the story/mystery was extremely entertaining.
