About this audiobook
Luke Russell failed to protect his fiancee. Because of his neglect, she was murdered. He vows to never leave another person to face dangers on their own and to never again open his heart to love. When he overhears Donna Grace's predicament he offers her a marriage of convenience that they will dissolve as soon they reach Santa Fe.
But the trail forces them to work together. The birth of Donna's baby unites them in a way they can't deny. Will the dangers and joys of the Santa Fe Trail break down the barriers these two have built around their hearts?
Linda Ford
Linda Ford lives on a ranch in Alberta, Canada. Growing up on the prairie and learning to notice the small details it hides gave her an appreciation for watching God at work in His creation. Her upbringing also included being taught to trust God in everything and through everything—a theme that resonates in her stories. She and her husband raised fourteen children—ten adopted. She currently shares her home with her husband, a grown son and a live-in paraplegic client.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Too much religious text. I didn't need a sermon, just a story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The story grew as I listened. The verses that were included deeply spoke to me.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I never thought about how the goods for the Western towns got there in the times before trains. The wagon trains often had "freighters" -- men who would ride wagon train trails with the pioneers, to bring good to the towns and bring back furs & other articles needed in the east. In this book, the pregnant gal can't continue unless she has a man on her wagon with her. Single guy freighter steps up (his brother will drive his wagon) and they quickly wed as a marriage of convenience. But after the babe is born, both want to stay for the long haul.
