About this audiobook
It's been a dozen years since two of the world's best women hockey players, Niki Hartling and Eva Caruso, first competed against each other in the Olympic Games.
The pressure of the intense USA-Canada rivalry forced an end to their love affair, and both women moved on-Niki to coach and to marry, Eva to stretch out a playing career that her ravaged body can barely sustain anymore.
The Games are upon them once again. Eva wants one last chance to beat the Canadians and win hockey's biggest prize. Niki, now a widow and single mother, strives to coach her country to gold, even as the obstacles against her mount. The locker room seems to have ears and there are few people Niki and Eva can trust.
Rivals and former lovers on hockey's biggest stage, will Niki and Eva feel the same spark that first brought them together? And can they win on-and off-the ice with the whole world watching?
Tracey Richardson
Tracey Richardson came to a love of books early on, thanks to a mother who took her and her two siblings regularly to the library in the Windsor area of Ontario, Canada, just across the river from Detroit. She even loves the smell of the ink and paper in books and to this day, when she opens a brand new book, she always gives it a good sniff! A journalist by trade, she worked at Ontario daily newspapers as first a reporter and later a copy editor. Semi-retired now, she finally has more time to devote to her fiction writing.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved Eva and Niki together and when Eva and Rory was so cute
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed this book although I know nothing about hockey. Great story. Great narrator.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I almost didn’t pick up this book because I know nothing about hockey; been to one game in my life. But I’ve enjoyed every book I’ve read by this author, several are among my favorites. This one joins that list. The writing flows well: it’s rich in description, well-crafted dialog, and features an intriguing well-paced plot. The main characters, within just a few chapters, have you deeply engaged in their lives, the challenges they’ve faced, the people they’ve loved. This novel also includes the most inspired use of “celestial” I’ve encountered. And ten-year-old Rory brightens ever scene she’s in with her guileless candor and humor. And lovely narration. Overall, better than a hat trick.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I give this 3.5. Really enjoyed the beginning and middle, but then it became disappointing. The love story was nice, and I liked the MCs. I think the plot became a bit forced towards the end, and the tension which had been building up, kind of petered out as a result of the resolution to the sports intrigue being too neat and easy. In my opinion the Olympic Games section, which was what everything had been building up to, fell somewhat flat. I like a sports romance to be strong in both departments, and the sports element wasn't as fleshed out and exciting as it could have been, so for me that really impacted my investment in the whole story.
