About this audiobook
After her apprenticeship was done and a place in the guild of villains secured, Tori's life was supposed to get simpler. Unfortunately, a poorly timed errand sees Tori caught in the debut of a new team of capes, one wearing an all-too-familiar name.
Thrust into the spotlight, Tori will have to navigate her unwanted fame as well as the suspiciously superheroic new neighbors down the hall, all while keeping up with her own villainous enterprises. With the guild no longer a secret, Hephaestus needs to grow as strong as possible to face her mounting threats.
Ambitious gangs, battling against mechanized traps, and brawling with capes are only the beginning. Behind the scenes, a hidden enemy works to settle an old score, one that has burned for decades. This secret scheme will not only endanger Tori, her friends, and the guild, but the very world itself.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The story and characters are great fun. But sometimes the level and endless complexity of explanation is annoying. You forget the story in a quagmire of unnecessary words. The politics are interesting and the lines between capes and villains are drawn with some skill. Thanks.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It's Drew Hayes. Interesting story, solid writing. I personally like the Fred the Vampire Accountant & Spells, Swords and Stealth series better.
That doesn't mean I didn't like this series. I do.
Just not my most favorite. You may feel differently. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Great characters; great plot. Engrossing throughout, moving and funny.
My two main criticisms would be the maid and butler dialogue, and that, during the big fight at the end, too many meaningless side characters setting up future conflicts, which distracted from the main plot.
