Wow!! Just Wow!!! This book grabed me and it still has yet to let go. Such a unique topic and mind blowing. I didnt read what this book was about I just knew it was by Shelly Crane and bought it and she did not disappoint. Emma, the poor girl just couldnt get anyone to understand her I wanted her to just say F-You and move on but she forged ahead. She is very brave and I like her more than her former self. I couldnt even begin to imagine having to jump into a life that was already started and having to adjust or comply to make everyone ok with the situation but Em tried. Her parents pissed me off to no end but i guess its understandable. Im trying not to give anything away but its hard with such a good book. Mason. Oh Mason, from the begining was a positive and supporting person for Em. How could anyone not fall for such an awesome person. He was the one bright light in a dim, dreary, and confusing situation. Everyone said come back, he said be who you are. Everyone cried and was disappointed and he said its not your fault. There was always understanding and support shining through his smile, while everywhere else there was saddness and dissapointment. I think its enough to have the frustrtaion of waking up to strangers and learning they are your family but to add all the other drama to top it off, it would make anyone crazy. I want more. I want a lot more Em and Mason. This is a must read. A Must!!

Oh my, where to begin. I am completely and totally in love with Mason. Talk about swoon-worthy. I am a huge Shelly Crane fan and I have all her books, but Wide Awake has quickly become one of my absolute favorites out of all of them. When you read the synopsis, it sounds really sad, and the situation is sad...I mean, Emma, and I loved Emma, has been in a coma for six months and is in Hospice, then when she wakes up, she can't remember anything from her life before. Tragic, very tragic, but something beautiful is birthed out of the place of death and blossoms into an absolutely wonderful love story, one that despite the heartache, is filled with immeasurable joy. I totally adored the relationship between Mason and Emma. Yes, they had chemistry and the romance was hot, but their's is a love that goes so muchdeeper. Shelly Crane has a gift for making you believe in magical pure love, soul mates, and wraps it all up in a wonderful story in the process that completely captures your attention. You can't help but fall in love with Mason and Emma, especially Mason. He has been through things that no one should have to endure, especially at his age, and he is perfect for Emma. I also loved watching Emma's character develop, and her interactions with not only Mason, but her family and friends also, as well as Mason's family and friends. The story is intense and deals with some difficult issues, but it is also heartwarming and beautiful in the process, and is something contemporary romance fans will not want to miss. I cannot wait to read Mason's brother Milo's story, Wide Open, which is releasing later this year.

Emma Walker has just woken up from a six month coma.From what the strangers in her room tell her she barley survived being left on the side of the road for dead after a hit and run. As if it can't get any worse, the 'strangers' in her room are her parents, and the girl staring back at her in the mirror? The one she doesn't recognize? That's her. Everyone in Emma's life wants her to just pick up right where she left off, her parents want her back on the cheer-leading squad, her friends what their queen bee back and her boyfriend thinks that a quick make out session will cure her amnesia. However the more Emma learns about the 'old' her the more she pushes away those closest to her. She isn't that girl, not anymore. That girl died on the side of the road that night. And if the people in her life can't accept the new Emma than maybe they don't deserve to be apart of her new life. With the help of her former physical therapist and now current love interest, Mason, Emma begins picking up the pieces of her shattered life. Healing both herself and Mason in the process. I loved this book, I started it on a Sunday morning and was finished before dinner that night. I could not get myself to put it down. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, waiting to see if Emma's memory returned or if she and Mason made it to the ending together. I'm sure there are quite a few books out there with this subject, memory loss and finding out who you are and who you truly want to be, but this story and the way it is written is completely unique and one of a kind. The Blurb alone pulled me in for this book. I am glad that I finally read it . This is the first Book I have read by Shelly Crane. Although I liked the story , I felt there could of been more to it . I truly did not connect with the characters in this story . ( that is not to say it was not a good story , it was ) I really don't understand why I could not connect with them . Hence the 4 stars , because the story was ok.

I have to say that when I read the synopsis of wide wake I had to read that book.It seemed so real that it could be a true story, and it could be a good story for a movie though. Between the drama and the love you mix them up and you have a success.Emma was so different when she woke up from her six months of coma its like she was born all over again with a new eyesite a new purpose in her life and a willing to change it for herself and not to be the person that her parents wanted her to be.Mason oh my, now that is a man that every girl on earth should have, he is so caring, so loving, so misunderstand sometimes that it can break your heart and also take your breath away.I m not going to be deep in the other characters because they were there just to interact with the main ones and that’s good because in the end I just wanted to know about Maggie and Mason anyway.To enjoy a good afternoon in this winter, I suggest a cup of coffee in one hand and wide awake in the other.

I was pretty excited to read this book, I've read so many good reviews about it. Unfortuantely, I was a little disappointed, I feel like I've read something like this before. It was interesting, it just didn't blow me away as I expected it to.I wasn't a fan of Emma before her accident, she was mean, selfish and just awful. She didn't even like her "old self" when she woke up from the coma. I liked the fact that she was able to get a second chance to be a better person. Mason was just the sweetest, he was so kind and selfless. He helped Emma so much and just being there for her made me like him so much.Overall, it was a good book, just thought it would of been a lot better.

This author never disappoints me with her love stories. They make me feel all swooney and stuff. Crane brought me back to the world of contemporary. She has an amazing way of telling a story. She doesn't make it all fluffy, and puts challenges in the plot to show how real it is.

I felt awful for Emma. She wakes up from a coma not knowing anyone, or what happened. She tries so hard to be the girl her parents knew before the accident. All she does is make herself unhappy, and harder for her to move on. It seems like Mason is the only one that understands she can't go back to who she was. Mason's her physical therapist, but can't keep from feeling drawn to her. He's a great guy, but has his own secrets and things he's dealing with. He doesn't want to make Emma's life more difficult. Andy, Emma's boyfriend, is a tool. That's all I'll say, because nothing nice will come out of my mouth about him.

Emma's life before and after are two complete opposites. I'm not sure how she stood to be the person she was before, but the accident seems to be the starting point to starting a new life. Things aren't easy for her as she acclimates into her life, but she just learns from the circumstances, and tries to deal with it as best as she can.

Wide Awake is a great book, that you won't want to put down. The topics and situation are completely believable. I can't imagine waking up, and not remembering anything. A great love story for those that need something that's not filled completely with fluff, and tackles some pretty big issues. I'll definitely be buying the print book of this so it can be read many times over.

Been anxiously awaiting the release of Wide Awake and was thrilled when it debuted. It was worth the wait, I really like it. After six months Emma Walker wakes up from a coma with amnesia and then learns that the person she used to be is someone she may not be able reconcile with.

This book made me think and it posed a few what if questions. What if you you had the chance to start over, to be a new you? You don't remember the person you use to be; so would you try to fit in to the old you, or recreate yourself? What if there's a third option, and what would that be? These are some of the questions Emma faced among others. I think the idea of this novel was a thought provoking one and I didn't have a clue how things were going to turn out for Emma and of course Mason. Can't forget Mason, he's a sweetheart, so yeah this book was also about love. It's about trust, acceptance, and loss, and forgiveness.

Also loved the facts on every chapter, some were very funny, and some I really didn't want to know, guess that's why they were called useless.
