About this audiobook

In order to find love, you have to take a chance. You have to open yourself up to the possibility of being hurt. You have to expose yourself in a way that you usually wouldn't; allow others to see vulnerabilities that you try to hide.

Journalist Aria Smith tried that three years ago and it ended in disaster. Now, she's just trying to focus on moving up the ladder in her career. She's just been handed the most coveted interview in sports writing, so it looks like she's well on her way.

Basketball star Tory Barker is fresh off of a championship season and is in high demand right now. He's riding high off of his success, avoiding drama as he does so. His usually introverted and stress free lifestyle is upset when he comes face to face with Aria. She's everything he never knew he wanted and everything he plans to get.

Aria's not sure she's ready for the likes of Tory. Yes, he's a sweetheart and easy to talk to. However, living life in the limelight was never her dream. Nor, was dating a basketball player. She's throwing up strong blocks every time he makes a move. Tory knows she's worth it and is more than ready to play for her love. Can he win is the question . . .

Contains mature themes.

The author is AMAZING!!! The female narrator isn't very good...she sounds like a computer. The male narrator is not good either. :-(

Wow! I’m pleasantly surprised by Ashley Nicole’s “Play For Your Love”. Asia’s besties are hilarious. I glad their friendships gave Asia the support, stability and accountability she needed. More so, I particularly enjoyed the banter between Asia and AJ; Tory, Dennis and Maya. Thereafter, I could relate and empathize with Asia & AJ’s family dramas. My only criticism, Mirron Willis voice as Tory wasn’t believable.

The narrators aren't good. The woman sounds like a robot and the man sounds more like an old uncle than a handsome 25-yearl old ball player. It's really disappointing how little options we have as Black readers. I pass on so many Black authors' audiobooks because the narrators just aren't great. So if you deduct the books on having a white man's baby and the bad narrators (e.g. Lacy Laurel), there really isn't much left...

The story was great! It took a lot for me to believe the male narrator was who was described (25 y.o. black male)he sounded 50!. The female didn't sound AA at all but she was doable..worth a free listen

I liked the storyline and how she wrote the book from both the male and female points of view. There was not much of a connection with other characters especially since this is the first in a series. The ending was a let down, it left me feeling like there was no conection to anything else no clif hanger. Maybe I will the next book and see if any of the disconnects come together.
