About this audiobook

If space doesn't kill David Dixon, Earth will.

Astronaut David Dixon's first mission to space goes horribly awry when a gun fight breaks out on a Russian space station. He finds himself making an emergency landing from orbit and becomes the most wanted man on Earth.

Desperate to unravel the plot he's found himself in, he takes his pursuers on a wild chase from space to the backstreets of Rio and beyond. Dixon's survival relies on his skills as a pilot and willingness to do whatever it takes, from crashing a passenger jet into the Mexican desert to pulling off an incredible heist in Low Earth Orbit.

I really enjoy his books... They are action packed and have the right balance of story and technical background. Very enjoyable reads.

I've previously read & enjoyed The Naturalist & Looking Glass by Mayne and enjoyed them both considerably so when I saw he'd written a space-action novel I thought it would be worth a look. I can now say I'm glad I did as Station Breaker is quite the enthralling novel.Space, danger, murders, mystery, action, shady intelligence operatives, a romp through Brazil whilst being pursued, it has got it all in one action packed novel. I started reading this in the late evening and found myself so engrossed that I read until I couldn't keep my eyes open, the narrative keeps you glued to the pages and the way the plot unfolds in excellent. Whilst there are some aspects which are a little out there such as one man being able to master flying a space plane, 737, helicopter and an experimental space vehicle, it wasn't absurdist to the point it distracted from the story.Overall, it was a really enjoyable book and I'm looking forward to the sequel, Orbital.

The escalation comes early & constantly but like and good action story there is enough space in between to give you some room to breathe & catch up. I would have preferred if he had been braver in the ending.
