- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I got the chance to see Wangerin, to literally sit at his feet in a packed room at the 2018 Festival of Faith and Writing. He was skeletal, with oxygen, and he read from his powerful recent poetry. This book is from the initial experience of cancer, more than ten years earlier. It is powerful, incredible. I’ll have to add it to my mental syllabus of books on suffering, death, and dying.
