About this audiobook
An Intimate Journey Complete with Original Music all from the Author
The #1 New York Times Bestseller
Includes six new songs by Jessica Simpson, available exclusively in the Open Book audiobook.
Performed by the author featuring her music throughout.
Jessica reveals for the first time her inner monologue and most intimate struggles. Guided by the journals she's kept since age fifteen, and brimming with her unique humor and down-to-earth humanity, Open Book is as inspiring as it is entertaining.
This was supposed to be a very different book. Five years ago, Jessica Simpson was approached to write a motivational guide to living your best life. She walked away from the offer, and nobody understood why. The truth is that she didn’t want to lie.
Jessica couldn’t be authentic with her readers if she wasn’t fully honest with herself first.
Now America’s Sweetheart, preacher’s daughter, pop phenomenon, reality tv pioneer, and the billion-dollar fashion mogul invites readers on a remarkable journey, examining a life that blessed her with the compassion to help others, but also burdened her with an almost crippling need to please. Open Book is Jessica Simpson using her voice, heart, soul, and humor to share things she’s never shared before.
First celebrated for her voice, she became one of the most talked-about women in the world, whether for music and fashion, her relationship struggles, or as a walking blonde joke. But now, instead of being talked about, Jessica is doing the talking. Her book shares the wisdom and inspirations she’s learned and shows the real woman behind all the pop-culture cliché’s — “chicken or fish,” “Daisy Duke,” ""football jinx,"" “mom jeans,” “sexual napalm…” and more. Open Book is an opportunity to laugh and cry with a close friend, one that will inspire you to live your best, most authentic life, now that she is finally living hers.
Includes the songs “Heartbeat,” “Practice What You Preach,” “Sweet Temptation,” “Your Fool”(featuring Willie Nelson), “Party of One,” and “Free Will” by Jessica Simpson.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I liked this book. I remember Jessica in the 90’s and she definately was an object of ridicule. She was a people pleaser until she decided to stop and be herself. Her style of writing is informal and you felt like you were talking to a friend.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Thank you Jessica for being real 100% , your faith is so beautiful thank you for keeping it real. God is good all the time.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I am now a big fan. I dk what to say bc the psotive comments says it all. I could say, from all the positive reviews, that is also How I felt.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Jessica has the biggest heart! I am inspired by her unwavering faith. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was like spending time with an old friend. Her narration was pleasant and conversational. The story was so very interesting and inspiring. I am a mom about her same age and remember watching her grow up and become famous during my formative years. This book is a wonderful, honest, and poignant glimpse behind the scenes. Also I'm a librarian and this is truly the first audiobook I've ever read/listened to. I really enjoyed the audiobook format much more than I expected to!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5You will feel all the emotions in this heartfelt read. I appreciates the authors vulnerability and frankness. Highly recommend!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Not what I expected! Way better!! Too much churchy stuff but once you get over that... talk about an intense live. She’s a motivator and her songs at the end are beautiful!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was a wonderful book depicting in vivid prose the emotions that Jessica felt reliving her experiences that made her the woman that she is today. Everyone has ups and downs, but the majority of us don’t live our life in a fishbowl.....so the world doesn’t know our struggles. Thank you Jessica for sharing your beautiful memoir!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Truly an amazing memoir, it is worth listening to. I also loved the songs she included at the end.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5There were parts of this book I felt were so close to some of the experiences I had as a young adult. I appreciated her candor, and complete honesty about a woman's journey with body image, self-worth, and purpose. So glad she was brave enough to write this story. Enjoyed it very much!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Genuine, (mostly ) relatable, raw and yet light-hearted. It was great to listen to Jessica narrating the book herself too.
Very brave to open and share her story in the way she has, and hopefully it continues to keep the conversations around body shaming, purity culture and abuse going. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I didn’t expect to fall so in love with her words and her life and all her relevancy I wish I could read this book again!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed her story and her voice kept me engaged

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved listening to this audio book and getting to know the real Jessica Simpson. She is truly inspiring.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I wasn't particularly a fan of Jessica Simpson at the height of her fame, I was probably a little too young and not being from the US she wasn't really on my radar. Based on recent interviews I thought it would be an interesting listen nonetheless and it was. Jessica is an incredible narrator and has quite the story to tell. One of the best audio-books I've ever listened to - highly recommend.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I didn't want it to end. Love her Story ❤️
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A beautiful story by an inspiring woman. I enjoyed listening to Jessica's life journey and have become a firm fan of hers. Wonderful songs to accompany the audio-book. One of the best things about being in your 30s is truly discovering who you are. I think it's wonderful she found the courage to work through trauma and learn how to connect with and love herself. I can relate as I have also been on this journey. I highly recommend this book, even if you've never been a fan of hers this is a true gem and worth reading or listening to
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Best memoir i have listened to!
I have loved Jessica Simpson since I can remember and I am so happy that she has found her voice and are finally able to love herself completely. She is an inspiration for all our moms with insecurities and anxiety. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I enjoyed the book very much. I listen to a lot of biographies of movie stars, singers, etc. I always feel so sad at the amount of time they spend stressing over body image. Jessica is beautiful!
She is very emotional at points in book. She definitely pours out her heart. I would recommend this book. I wish i could tell Jessica not to worry! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I’ve never gotten into Jessica’s music, I’m more into rock and folk, but she’s very talented as a musician.
I was a fan of her show back in the day and always felt they played her up to be that typical stereotype of a blonde but knew she was so much more.
Little did I know how far off that show portrayed her or the struggles she went through during that show and her whole life.
She does open a lot her and while any story does hold back all the details there is a lot of heart opening within this book and as a very casual fan I can highly recommend this audiobook.
