Kayla's tooth falls out at school and she is so excited to leave it for the tooth fairy. But when she gets home, the tooth is no where to be found! Can Kayla and her trusty sidekick (her dog King) solve this case? The King & Kayla mystery series continue to be delightful. The mysteries are fairly simple, but I like how 'all's well that ends well' and how Kayla always tackles each problem by writing down what she knows and what she doesn't know. Also, the books are narrated by King, which is both super cute and entertaining. Sometimes King's outlook makes for rather funny moments. The illustrations fit the text nicely and showcase a diverse cast.

King and Kayla are best friends, dog and master, and amateur detectives. When Kayla loses her tooth, she brings it home in the class tooth pillow to put under her pillow for the tooth fairy. When she tries to show it to King, she realizes it is missing. Where is it? They begin to investigate to find the tooth. Kayla makes lists, King follows his nose. This is a cute beginning chapter book for early readers. They will enjoy the simple story and cute illustrations. This is the fourth in a series for young readers to follow. A great book for school, primary classroom and family libraries. Thanks to Peachtree Publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book via Netgalley.
