About this audiobook

Old Mr. Putter and old Mrs. Teaberry are neighbors. When Mrs. Teaberry hurts her foot, Mr. Putter and his cat,
Tabby, offer to walk her little dream dog, Zeke.

Zeke is no dream dog. Zeke is a nightmare. On the first day, he drags Mr. Putter and Tabby through the neighborhood.
On the second day, he wraps them around trees. On the third day, he chases big dogs until the big dogs turn around
and chase them. If they don’t think of a way to get Zeke under control, they won’t make it through the next four days.

Award-winning author Cynthia Rylant’s amusing lesson on the power of positive reinforcement will bring a smile to
any listener. John McDonough’s jolly reading is perfect for this charming little book with the delightfully funny ending.

I love this series and am every so thankful that kids do, too. I really want to be neighbors to Mr. Putter and Mrs. Teaberry. I don't know what it is, but this one, the second in the series (but about the 20th I've read), is not quite as strong as many of the others.

Mr. Putter and his lovely neighbor Mrs. Teaberry are close friends who share kiwis and eggplant. When Mrs. Teaberry hurts her foot and is bedridden, she asks Mr. Putter to walk her dream dog, Zeke. Mr. Putter, joined by his devoted cat Tabby, finds that Zeke is more of a nightmare than a dream. Zeke chases dogs through strange houses, wraps Mr. Putter and Tabby around trees and tugs through creeks and yards. Mr. Putter devises a plan to change Zeke's behavior and make him more co-operative. Author Cynthia Rylant has written more than forty books for children including Missing May, winner of the 1993 John Newbery Medal. She has several well-fed pets.

Mr. Putter and his cat Tabby agree to walk their neighbor's dog. They soon learn they have gotten in over their heads. Eventually, though, they all find a way to get along. Children will be excited to read through the chapters and enjoy the funny antics of the pets.
