About this audiobook
Over the last few years, I have spent considerable time deepening my spiritual quotient. It all started in 2013 when I took up Vipassana meditation and started practicing seriously, and later developed an interest in reciting certain mantras.
I have titled it "UnSexy Spirituality". The reason for this title is pretty straightforward, I am sharing insights into the core concepts of Sanatana Dharma (Indian Spirituality) without any hype. The intent is to share the insights I have gained from my journey thus far.
You will find many books on the shelf that mix mysticism with Indian spirituality, my attempt is to present Indian spiritual concepts as is without mysticism and hence the play of the word Unsexy.
The Audiobook is thoughtfully designed for people to “Listen”; and “Contemplate”. The process of repeat listening and then contemplating the concepts mentioned in the audiobook is the key to fully digesting these concepts. It allows seekers to find clarity as well as uplift themselves to higher awareness levels.
I have compiled this wisdom into 14 chapters that simplify the core concepts which have kept me as well as other Indians and many westerners confused.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I heard the book, on Scribd subscription and on the reference of the author of the book against a honest review. Firstly the title, I still could not relate the content to the title but it does catch the eye for the readers.
As for the book, I heard it through and I did like some of the details that were mentioned in the book. I liked the way the details are explained to a layman, however since this is an audio book, it needs a little more attention on hearing to understand and realize the simplicity of the content.
Niyati – How it works, its attributes like Karma and rebirth. I liked the line which said “If you want grace, you need to be worthy of it.” Very true, to gain something you need to be worthy for it, and if you are not getting it understand that you are not worthy of it, as yet.
Dharma is the doing the right thing, even when no one (person) is looking at us, that defines our karma.
Karma is a law of nature. The intension of the karma is the result the person would face in future by law of destiny.
Our life is on Auto Pilot mode, by our tendency. When you continue repeating any task when you conscious gives you a better option to do or not to do the task, it falls into the auto pilot mode.
Burning the Karma, the ways, need and results of burning Karma. It is always the soul who caries the karma not the body, so one should think beyond the body to learn and tend towards good karma
Religion, I liked the way the author portrait the religion aspect, it is a way of looking at things. If I may put it in my own words, it is like looking at the peak of a mountain from different angles, the mountain looks different from different directions and angles but then one is looking at the same peak.
One of today’s need “Relationship with Nature” I really liked the inclusion of this topic, and true indeed that one has to build that relationship with Nature, and actually see the vision of the author when he talks about the same.
The last chapter talks about the difference on how a man and a woman look and reach at spiritual truth, both have their advantages and both are equally eligible, in fact both the genders should thrive their own ways towards the almighty.
I appreciate the narrator, Soniya Mali for her effort to read though the book. The whole audio is not too long so it is easy to listen. However, I think there could be a little time gaps between the chapters, while listening through one would not really realize that the current chapter is completed and we are into the next. I sure could not. Not that it practically makes much difference in the content but it just gives an ease to relate and more importantly for detail listeners like me, an easy point to stop the play and resume at another time. Once again thanks to Bhu and Soniya for the wonderful effort.1 person found this helpful
