About this audiobook
The New York Times bestselling authors of Switch and Made to Stick explore why certain brief experiences can jolt, elevate and change us — and how we can learn to create such extraordinary moments in our life and work.
What if a teacher could design a lesson that he knew his students would remember twenty years later? What if a doctor or nurse knew how to orchestrate moments that would bring more comfort to patients? What if you had a better sense of how to create memories that matter for your children? Many of the defining moments in our lives are the result of accident or luck — but why leave our most meaningful, memorable moments to chance when we can create them?
In The Power of Moments, Chip and Dan Heath explore the stories of people who have created standout moments, from the owners who transformed an utterly mediocre hotel into one of the best-loved properties in Los Angeles by conjuring moments of magic for guests, to the scrappy team that turned around one of the worst elementary schools in the country by embracing an intervention that lasts less than an hour.
Filled with remarkable tales and practical insights, The Power of Moments proves we all have the power to transform ordinary experiences into unforgettable ones.

Reviews for The Power of Moments
5 ratings1 review
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A great book Chip and Dan Heath about how memorable positive moments in our lives are dominated by 4 elements: elevation(rising above the everyday), pride(capturing us at our best), insight(changing our understanding of ourselves or our environment) and connection(moments are shared with others). Not all have to apply to make a memorable moment, but any one or a combination can, the book shows how.
The book covers how these elements have been and can be applied within organisations like schools and businesses and in our personal lives. This is quite an eye opening read. We normally don’t think about what makes moments so special or why they stand out, but by breaking it down to these core factors, the author’s have figured out a way for anyone to not only create but also seize moments and create meaning in any part of our lives that matters to us. The awesome thing about memorable moments is that they are not only for making experiences feel great and meaningful along the way to some bigger goal, they can be an end in themselves - not just a means to an end. This is a great (EPIC anyone? No? Ok.) read for anyone or any organisation that wants to improve how they do things and understand what makes some positive moments so memorable.
