About this audiobook
Matthew Bannon, a poor art student living in New York City, finds a duffel bag filled with diamonds during a chaotic attack at Grand Central Station. Plans for a worry-free life with his gorgeous girlfriend Katherine fill his thoughts – until he realises that he is being hunted, and that whoever is after him won’t stop until they have reclaimed the diamonds and exacted maximum revenge.
Trailing him is the Ghost, the world’s greatest assassin, who has just pulled off his most high-profile hit: killing Walter Zelvas, a top member of the international Diamond Syndicate. There’s only one small problem: the diamonds he was supposed to retrieve from Zelvas are missing.
Now, the Ghost is on Bannon’s trail – but so is a rival assassin who would like nothing more than to make the Ghost disappear for ever.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Lately, a lot of Patterson's books that are co-authored do not measure up to those earlier books that Patterson wrote. However, "Kill me if you can" might even be better than his earlier works. Readers are introduced to the world of assassins and the Russian Mob who deal in diamonds. One of them was skimming off the top and was trying to leave the country and begin a new life. Only he is found out by the boss and a contract issued to the "Ghost" who is considered the world's top killer. The Ghost was at the train station and saw the bag of diamonds...how did he lose them to a young up and coming artist? This artist meets a girl who turns out to be his professor at a prestigious university in New York. They begin a secret relationship - hidden from the other students. At the end of the semester, the artist whisked his girfriend to Paris for an "artsy" lavished vacation. The mob boss hedges his bets and hires another assassin to kill the artist, retrieve the diamonds and then also kill the Ghost for a bonus. The chase begins through Europe with the young couple only a few moments ahead of the two killers. He has $12mm in diamonds and needs to find a buyer before returning to the US.There is an earth-shattering discovery about halfway through the story and the storyline makes an abrupt left turn. The action is non-stop and full of surprises. Highly recommend this story as it is one of the best of Patterson's library. Don't miss out on this one.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5nice little twist, keeps things interesting
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A young ex-Marine, Iraq and Afghanistan combat veteran, who finds a bag full of diamonds, worth several million dollars. He decides to keep the treasure, and a blood-soaked series of events ensues, for the Russian mob has a strong "proprietary" interest in those diamonds.
The book weaves two taboos into the plot. A college professor has an affair with one of her students. The other taboo is far more scandalous. Many readers will find this part of the book revolting, although the authors handle it in an almost matter-of-fact manner. There's nothing profound here. But there are stretches of high excitement, and I did keep wondering what would happen to those diamonds and the man who took them. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I always enjoy a James Patterson book, except for Zoo, and this book did not dissapoint. It was a quick enjoyable read with a couple of twists. I don't know why these books are so quick to read, maybe the short chapters? But again, I enjoyed it.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5THe Ghost, Kills for hire, supprise he is an art student as well. Good twist. ex marine. Has ex marine buddies and father. Gets the bad guys and finds out he can be hurt. The bad guys get just ending. Fast read.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Patterson never fails. When I first started reading Kill Me if You Can. I was not immediately captured. Then Patterson did one of his twists and turns and I was on my way to a good read.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed this book. It was a real page-turner with a twist at the middle of the book instead of the usual twist at the end. I don't know if my liking the book was because of the co-author or if Patterson just had a good write. However, if it was the co-author, I hope he collaborates with Patterson again. The last chapter leaves one wondering if Matthew & his 3 marine buddies will star in another book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5James Patterson novels are always heavy on adventure, but light on character development. People are good or people are bad. Bad people tend to die. Good people tend to wind up rich and with the perfectly gorgeous spouse. In between, there is a conflict and some action. Kill Me is no different. Its a fun novel if read with no expectations other than entertainment. I did love the references to Hotchkiss, Colorado, a place about 30 miles from where I grew up.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5One of his better efforts. I didn't see the twist.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Awesome book. One of the better recent James Patterson books. Fast paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Sunday morning brain candy read. I never thought I'd read a Patterson book again but a good friend gave it to me when I needed something light. It was a good, fast-paced thriller. A 30-year old Parsons student and former Marine falls in love with his art teacher. In reality, he's a hit man but like Dexter, he only kills really bad guys. He's involved with the Russian mob, diamonds, a trip to Paris...all the elements needed for a really good ride.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5One of the fastest reads ever because you can't stop reading! It's a non-stop roller coaster of twists and turns building layers of the characters and twists and turns in their actions all compelling the reader toward an intense, thrilling read and at the end being totally satisfied. There's only one thing left to do...Pick up another James Patterson title as you know you won't be satisfied with only one read of his titles!
.............................................................................................................................. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I read this because I'm a fan of Marshall Karp. And, it seems, I have read a James Patterson that wasn't terrible but probably it's been a while. I don't know why I finished it. Maybe I thought it would get better? It didn't. A student artist who's also a successful assassin and who steals 6 million dollars in previously stolen diamonds and then gives it all up for his art teacher with whom he falls in love. Yeah, id didn't work in the book either.

.............................................................................................................................. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Had not read a stand-alone Patterson for a while so I was looking forward to this book. I was not disappointed! Loved everything about this book. ?
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Fast, good read. I was almost half way through the book, getting a bit bored with the change of events, when the book took a surprising turn of events and I couldn't put it down.
