About this audiobook
Includes a thrilling preview of Lee Child's hotly anticipated Jack Reacher novel, A Wanted Man!
Summoned by Military Intelligence to Washington, D.C., Reacher is sent undercover. The assignment that awaits him: The army is meeting with its Capitol Hill paymasters for classified talks on a new, state-of-the-art sniper rifle for U.S. forces. But vital details about the weapon are leaking-straight from the Capitol and probably into the hands of unidentified foreign arms dealers. The prospect of any and every terrorist, mercenary, or dictator's militia getting their hands on the latest superior firepower is unthinkable. That's where Reacher comes in. His task: infiltrate the top-secret proceedings and smoke out the mole. His target: a quartet of high-powered Army political liaison officers-all of them fast-track women on their way to the top.
According to his bosses, it's a zero-danger mission. No need to draw a gun . . . just chat over drinks. But Reacher knows that things are rarely what they seem. And he's learned the hard way never to underestimate an opponent. Or four. Lessons that will come in handy when he starts digging for the truth-and gets his hands a lot dirtier than he expected.
"Child is a superb craftsman of suspense."-Entertainment Weekly
"The truth about Reacher gets better and better."-Janet Maslin, The New York Times

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Always a sucker for Jack Reacher stories..fun read
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5If this wasn't so short, I likely would not have finished it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Deep down is the third book in the Reacher series chronologically, although the 16 and halves by publishing date. It's a short story that whilst only 44 pages manages to lose none of the punch of a typical Reacher story. There's the unfolding mystery, the seeming unconnected facts then the climactic ending. Fast but enjoyable.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Good listen, short and sweet to the point ok kk
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Set back in 1986 when Reacher was still an MP and is sent uncover to try to find which of four high-flying women officers is leaking information during a congressional hearing.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Was this just the first chapter of an actual book?
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked it, but there were a lot of moving pieces and parts. I think I could have followed it better as a book vs an audio book. But as usual, Reacher is one cool dude.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a short story involving Jack Reacher and takes place earlier in his army career before he retired from the military police. Jack is summoned from Germany to Washington to infiltratre a small circle of military women to discover which one is selling secrets to the Russians. It was interesting seeing Jack a little unsure of himself with these high ranking women and doing his thing to weed out traitor.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I like Jack Reacher. A lot. But somehow, I just couldn't get into this short story. Luckily, I was able to start reading the new Reacher novel immediately after finishing this short story.
