Reviews for Skulduggery
1 rating1 review
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5In this reissued (in 2012) novella, San Francisco anthropologist Dr. Ellen Christie is visited by a young social worker, Jimmie, who shows her the skull of what she believes is “Peking Man.” If her spot analysis is correct, the scull and other bones are ancient – and very valuable, both to anthropologists and to less savory sorts. The encounter with Jimmie begins a two-day adventure through Chinatown with Jimmie’s older brother Dan. Dan is looking for his now-missing brother Jimmie, but Dr. Christie is more interested in the bones.Skullduggery was so improbable on so many levels that, had it been a longer book, I would have not have toughed it out to the end. I’m a big fan of Carolyn Hart and have read every book in three of her popular series – Death on Demand, Henrie O, and Bailey Ruth Raeburn. After reading Skullduggery, I’m hoping she spends her time writing those series books.
