‘Pay up or face disconnection’

HIGH UTILITY BILLS

ETHEKWINI residents who have been slapped with unusually high utility bills, claim they have been told to pay up or face disconnection.

In recent weeks, the POST has been inundated with calls from disgruntled residents complaining that their utility bills from December to date were far higher than the monthly average they had been paying.

The POST then asked residents on Facebook to reach out to us if they had received exhorbitant bills.

Once again, we were inundated with emailed complaints.

S Moodley, 41, lives in a free-standing house in Newlands West with his family of five.
