Community take back park from criminals

CLEANING UP MEREBANK

COMMUNITY leaders and activists from the Navy or ChinaTown area of Merebank have banded together to restore Sialkot Park, which has become a “haven for criminals”.

The project is being spearheaded by community arts activist, Dr Satchu Annamalai.

He said the initiative was not just about restoring and eliminating crime in the park, but was meant for residents to re-evaluate and form relationships with green spaces.
