Premier calls for ‘one matric’

exam controversy

INSTEAD of focusing on things that don’t matter, South Africa needs to focus on creating a curriculum and educational system that will address the myriad of social and political issues hampering much-needed economic growth.

The assertion came following comments made by Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi shortly after the release of the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) for private schools, calling for one exam for all learners.

The matric results revealed that IEB schools obtained a 98.42% pass rate, while public schools obtained 82.9% in the National Senior
