Driving into the complex where Nan and Alan Day live, you feel as though you're in a country village. Leafy lanes are edged with pretty gardens and pitched green roofs peep through the trees. “This is what attracted us to this property 23 years ago,” says Nan. “We loved the Cape farmhouse look with white walls and traditional corrugated iron roofs.”
