Step 7: Create a Great Workspace at Home
Obviously, working from home is the best commute possible. All you need to do is go down the hall or across your room and you're at the office. No traffic, no costly commuter ticket, no hassle. But in order to have the right workspace, you need to give careful consideration to how you want to set things up. The time you spend now in thinking through some potential problems and challenges and finding solutions will enable you to have the right environment in which to conduct your business.
Personal concerns
Before you commit to starting a business and running it from your home, be sure this is the right arrangement for you. Sure, the commute is great as mentioned earlier. And the cost makes sense…you're already paying the rent or mortgage and other overhead expenses, so there's basically no additional cost to operating from home. But this arrangement isn't right for everyone. Be sure to think about some problems in working from home, which follow.
Family conflict. While you may want to work from home, your spouse, significant other, child, or other person(s) you live with may not be on board with your decision.
