By September we’re nearing the end of the growing season, with the balance tipped from sowing and growing to the main harvest. There’s a sense of relief at no longer having to worry about the next seeds to sow or tasks to get done. The pressure is off. For the next couple of months, we can enjoy the fruits and vegetables of our labour.
I take my inspiration at this time of year from squirrels, storing as much food as I can for winter. As with growing, my preference is hassle-free storing, with veg like potatoes and onions that can simply
