Addicted to sugar

Q I need to lose around 5st, but no matter how hard I try I can’t stop eating sweets and chocolate. I think I’m addicted to sugar – is that a thing? Jessica, Thornbury

When we eat sugary foods, our bodies release a small amount of dopamine which is a feelgood hormone – this response to sugar can be addictive.
