This quilt includes many Hourglass blocks, and many hours of hand stitching the flowers. Although, you could machine stitch the appliqué shapes.

• 6m (6¾yd) light tan print fabric (background)
• 1.3m (1⅜yd) dark pink print fabric (sashing units and binding)
• 1.2m (1⅜yd) mid-pink fabric (sashing units)
• 80cm (⅞yd) pale pink print fabric (sashing)
• 40cm (½yd) each of eight assorted pink print fabrics
• 2.5m (2¾yd) extra-wide (275cm/108in) backing fabric
• Batting at least 240cm (96in) square
• Fusible web
• Stranded embroidery floss in shades to match appliqué fabrics
• Rotary cutter, ruler and mat
• Sewing machine with ¼in foot

Cutting
From the light tan print fabric, cut:
• 16 strips, 8½in x width of fabric. Cross cut each strip to yield four squares, 8½in – 64 squares in total (block backgrounds). Cut the remainder of each strip in half to yield two
