BRITAIN’S rivers are more polluted than they have ever been, with millions of gallons of raw sewage being pumped into them every day. The fish, amphibians and insects which call our waterways and ponds their home die in the filthy, toxic waters. As a result, biodiversity is now at an all time low with many ponds, streams and brooks now so contaminated that they support no animal life at all.
