AMERICA’S BEST Home & Garden Brands 2023

mericans spend a lot on sprucing up their homes, lawns and backyards. ¶ Last year, people in the U.S. spent a total of $558.3 billion on home improvement overall and we spent $47.5 billion on home appliances, like refrigerators and dishwashers. This year we are expected to spend about $577.3 billion on all kinds of things for our homes and gardens. ¶ To make shopping for all those items and global data firm Statista are proud to present our ranking of the best Home and Garden Brands for 2023. ¶ This year the top 401 brands were awarded across 84 unique home and garden categories, ranging from blenders to robotic lawn mowers to security cameras to trampolines. Brands were chosen based on more than 2 million relevant online customer reviews and ratings written between January 2020 and January 2023. ¶ For each product category, nine different product aspects were considered, ranging from quality for money to convenience, safety and setup. Those aspects were weighted by category depending on their importance (e.g., safety was a more important aspect for power saws than it was for coffee makers). The written reviews were also analyzed with a sentiment analysis that identified keywords and phrases indicating specific attitudes, emotions and opinions about the product, and then categorized as positive, neutral or negative. ¶ For most categories we’ve listed the top five brands, for some products where there are fewer top brands (robotic lawn mowers, for instance) we’ve listed the top three. ¶ As you shop for your own home or garden, we hope you find our rankings useful.
