The issue: ‘With two young kids and a busy job, I’m constantly squeezing exercise into my schedule, and for a long time, I’d been feeling under-recovered after workouts. I was neither exercising as much or as intensely as I had in the past when running competitively, but I was finishing even moderate-intensity sessions with DOMS and fatigue – sometimes for up to 72 hours. I’d just competed in London Hyrox Doubles and wanted to give the next event in October a good shot, so I needed to get on top of my recovery and eating strategy.’
