By the time you read this I will have held my first rodmaking classes in New Zealand. For a long time now, as much as love fishing, I probably enjoy making rods even more. And if there is one thing I like more than making rods on my own, it’s helping and watching others make their first bamboo rod. Since 2015, I’ve had moire than 40 students through my classes, and it’s been one of the most rewarding experiences that I’ve had. Far from creating “competition”, I see this as growing the interest and passion in both rodmaking and the use of bamboo rods for everyday fishing.
