All the preparation in the world does not make it any easier to enter the period when our parents have grown old. It’s so difficult to suddenly have to make the decisions for which they have been responsible for years.
Suddenly it is in our generation who are packing up our parents’ houses. A bittersweet experience, but there’s mostly the comfort and knowing that there is one last place to visit – sometimes an apartment, but for some just a room. At least it’s another gathering place.
