A FEW days ago we were on our way to visit my sister and her family when we realised we had to fill the car. I watched the numbers tick up on the petrol pump – and tick up and tick up. It felt like it was never going to end and I was again astounded by just how much of a leap we’ve had in the fuel price in recent times. No matter how many times I see it, when we fill the car, it’s always a little shock.
