We all have the odd sleepless night, but if your rest is regularly disrupted, it can become a more serious issue. ‘If poor sleep is untreated it can impact on long-term health,’ warns Rob Hobson, author of The Art of Sleeping. Research shows that regularly skimping on sleep increases the risk of conditions such as stroke, heart disease, diabetes, obesity and dementia. Luckily, if you’re sleeping too little, or too much, there are ways to get things back on track.
