RESTAURANTS

SPRINGFONTEIN EATS

Western Cape

Michelin-starred chef Jürgen Schneider serves a four, five, or six-course tasting menu at the restaurant located in a barn on Springfontein Estate.

Only the best and freshest seasonal organic produce is used. The menu is variable and dependent upon what is available. And, since the restaurant is situated on a wine farm, it is advisable to enjoy a tipple made right there. Both the Springfontein Chenin Blanc and the Jonathan’s Ridge Pinotage are great options.

8 Wortelgat Road, Springfontein Wine Estate, Stanford, Western Cape.

Open for lunch from Thursday to Sunday 12h30 to 14h30 (last order 13h30pm). Dinner from Wednesday to Saturday from 18h30 to 22h30 (last order 20h30).

HELL’S KITCHEN

Melville, Johannesburg

A bit of suburban biker-chic with good-looking, edgy interior and a patio from where you can watch the goings on in Melville. This is the coolest place to hang out with friends in Melville and get hammered.

The menu is tight, but everything is really great, especially the burgers and beer-battered hake.

Pick your poison from the well-stocked bar. The craft beer list is extensive, and the cocktails are sublime. Now, sit back, relax and enjoy.

Shop 4, 7th Street, Melville, Johannesburg.

Open from Monday to Sunday from 11h00 to 23h00.

UMAMI SUSHI

Kommetjie, Cape Town

Beautifully prepared and presented sushi and succulent seafood is on offer at this delightful venue. The décor is crisp and service is top-notch.

Enjoy your delicious meal in the tranquil garden when the weather is fine. A big bonus is that the garden is pet-friendly, so if your fluffies are well-behaved, by all means, take them along.

The farm is simply stunning and offers a wide variety of shops – from organic produce, to interior décor, to art, wine, and cheese. Situated on the route to Cape Point, it’s a delightful destination in itself, or great for a stop while exploring the area.

Imhoff Farm, Kommetjie Road, Kommetjie, Western Cape.
