Chickpea and sweet-potato soup

The carbohydrates and protein in this flavoursome dish pack your muscles with glycogen and stimulate muscle protein synthesis. The stock will help hydrate you as well as cranking up your electrolyte levels.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 4

• 1 tbsp olive oil• 1 diced onion• Thumb-sized piece of ginger, grated• 4 medium garlic cloves, crushed• 1 tsp turmeric• ½ tsp paprika• Juice of ½ lime• 1 large sweet• 400g tin chickpeas or any beans• 200g dried red lentils• 1.25L vegetable stock• Handful of spinach• Salt and pepper
