Few, if any, good things can be said about the global pandemic. But at least Covid-19’s arrival coincided with a diverse new era of digital wellness. As fitness studios closed their doors indefinitely, we had a smorgasbord of online classes and hi-tech equipment to keep us moving in our living rooms.

From digital apps and online classes to wi-fi-enabled stationary bikes, treadmills and rowing machines, tech-driven home fitness solutions came to our rescue when we needed them most.

While tech giants such as Apple, Google, Amazon and Samsung began making inroads into the wellness world long before the pandemic, the great global reset sped up our embrace of digital fitness and showbiz hybrids dubbed ‘exertainment’.

Personal trainers posted YouTube tutorials to keep their clients on track. And the world’s best boutique fitness, dance and yoga studios repackaged classes – led by charismatic instructors –
